Akko is believed to showcase the tumultuous history of the Land of Israel better than any other city. It was shaped by the Romans, Ottomans, Crusaders, Mamelukes and Byzantines, and was even home to the British. Today, it hosts a fascinatingly mixed population of Christians, Jews and Muslims.
